Sizing Residential Heating and Air Conditioning Systems

HVAC systems more than 10 years old are often unreliable and much less efficient than a modern system. When it’s time for a new replacement, choosing the correct size is critical to getting the best efficiency, comfort, and lowest maintenance and operating costs over the life of the new system.

Some national surveys have determined that well over half of all HVAC contractors do not size heating and cooling systems correctly. We offer ACCA manual “J” compliant load calculations that can be performed when replacing your system, giving you the most for your money.

To save on utility bills and service calls, we urge you to take a preventive approach to heating and cooling. All of your heating and cooling systems should be included in a regular inspection and maintenance.

We offer service agreements and inspection plans to keep your heating and cooling systems operating efficiently and avoid unpleasant surprises.

Advantage Service Rewards Program

For $240 per year, you get TWO trips. One service on your air conditioner in the spring and one service on you furnace in the fall. That's a $370 value! PLUS, if any repairs need to be done, it is 10% off. As a program member, the response time to a service call is no more than two (2) days.

About six feet below the earth’s surface, the ground remains at a constant temperature year round. In the winter months, the ground is warmer than the surface and in the summer it is cooler. Using a series of liquid-filled pipes buried in the earth outside your home, a geothermal system gathers the heat from the earth and distributes it throughout your home when it’s cold outside. In the summer months, the system moves the heat from your home to cool it.

What Can a Geothermal System do for You?

  • Use free fuel to heat your home in the winter and cool it in the summer

  • Get 95% of your hot water for free

  • Reducing heating and cooling costs by 50 to 70%

  • Recoup your Investment in 3 to 5 years!

Of course a geothermal system, complete with pipes, compressor, heat exchanger and geothermal unit, and the associated labor necessary to excavate and install the loops of pipe will cost significantly more than a conventional furnace. However, a highly efficient geothermal system will save you so much in fuel bills alone that it’s possible to recoup your start-up costs in 3 to 5 years.

Fortunately, industry-leading products like air purifiers, germicidal lights and dehumidifiers, working together with your heating and cooling system, make it possible to get rid of bad air for good.

Read the article "Three Steps to Indoor Air Quality" on the "Article and Tips" page of this web site about the hazards of poor indoor air quality and then contact us for a free home indoor air assessment and more information on how our Lennox products can reduce the indoor air pollution in your home or business.

PureAir SAir Purification System
Cleans the air in your home better than any other single system you can buy

Removes 99.9%* of mold spores, pollen, dust and pet dander. Removes more than 95% of fine particles absorbed by the lungs down to 0.3 micron**.

Removes or destroys 90%* of flu and cold viruses, infectious bacteria like MRSA and other living microorganisms down to 0.01 micron**.

Destroys household odors and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from sources like cooking fumes, pets, cleaning supplies, paints and solvents, and carpeting and upholstery.

Many air-cleaning systems filter out particles. Some destroy germs, and some attack odors. The PureAir™ S Air Purification System is a whole-home solution that combats all three major types of indoor air contaminants.

Photocatalytic oxidation destroys odors, and so does the Carbon Clean 16 filter. Carbon inside the filter that’s been treated with oxygen reacts with odors, neutralizing them before they can recirculate in your home.

The PureAir™ S Air Purification System is equipped with smart and sensing features that make maintaining your system a breeze. Built-in sensors monitor the life of both the filter and the Purifier UVA light so you don’t have to. When it’s time to change the filter or the Purifier, the PureAir™ S lets you know through your iComfort® S30 Ultra Smart Thermostat.

PEACE-OF-MIND PROTECTION The PureAir™ S system comes with a 10-year limited warranty on all covered components.††

**One micron equals approximately 1/25,000 of an inch.

*** The Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value (MERV) is an independently tested, industry-standard method of evaluating filters based on the fraction of particles removed from air passing through them at a given velocity. A higher MERV rating means a greater percentage of particles are trapped by the filter.
